Maintenance or Turnaround Planner/Scheduler
In this role, the Maintenance or Turnaround Planner/Scheduler is accountable for detailed Maintenance or Turnaround planning, scheduling, cost estimating and control functions in general to maximize production while achieving budgeted targets in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. The ideal candidate will be journeyman trade certified in a trade relevant to our target industry (Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Electrician, etc.) and com e with a background in the oil and gas industry. Turnaround and/or Maintenance planning knowledge and sufficient experience required, know-how of the use of SAP an asset. Ability to schedule using SAP or Primavera would also be beneficial. We are looking for Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation planner/schedulers.
Perform field inspections and determine the appropriate job work scopes
Develop the work plans for the maintenance jobs (using SAP PM) with the necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment, and execution of these jobs
Create, use, and maintain plant history and other technical files to include information in current job plans to anticipate and avoid job delays
Develop cost and time estimates of the planned maintenance work
Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality
Be responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records database
Continually improve the planning, scheduling, purchasing, stores, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency assuring that the work is planned to meet all important maintenance, construction and start-up dates.
Maximize resource productivity by identifying parts, materials, special tools, external services, rentals and documentation
Preparation of job plans ready for scheduling by detailing parts, materials, special tools, external services and documentation with planned costs
Identification of safety, EH&S, permit and communication requirements
Maintain and continuously improve job plans
Maintain bills of materials (BOM's)
Have the ability to develop weekly, monthly and quarterly schedules for maintenance using SAP and/or Primavera software.
Develop, implement and cheer effective execution schedule reviews. Identify opportunities to optimize plant reliability and maintenance costs while adhering to site safety requirements.
Provide input to the resolution of all priority conflicts involving execution resources, including labor, materials, services, equipment and tools
Must have a Grade 12 or GED
Journeyman Trade Certified (in a trade relevant to our target industry, like Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Electrician, Millwright, etc.)
Dynamic individual with 3 to 5 years minimum planning /scheduling experience
A working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems preferably SAP and Primavera.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Word & Excel
Knowledge of Routine Maintenance and/or Turnaround practices, performances measures, scheduling tools and techniques
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Strong interpersonal, communication, administrative and leadership skills are required
Motivated, self-starter who can work well independently or within a team environment
An effective communicator with the ability to develop positive working relations across a multitude of business units
Exercises good judgment on complex decisions
HOURS OF WORK (SHIFTS):
We have a number of positions for planners available on various shift rotations such as: 5/2, 10/4, 7/7, 4/3 (days on/off). Depending on the position flights or flight allowance will be provided to and from your hometown to Fort McMurray, AB. Some positions offer a choice of LOA while others are strictly camp. Please indicate which shift will work best for you as well as your preference regarding camp or living allowance.
Approx. $136, 000 – $156,000 annually as an employee. Wage will be negotiated based on the successful candidate’s experience and education. Contractors can expect a slightly higher salary range as they do not receive the same benefit and vacation package as employees. WestCorp offers a choice to onboard as an employee or a contractor.
10 days/per year paid vacation

1 Training Course Paid Per Year – Course must be approved by management and related to personal or professional growth with WestCorp. Tuition reimbursed after successful completion of the course. Employee will be paid regular wages while away on training. Other conditions apply.
