Position Summary:
The ideal candidate must be an integral member of the team by ensuring industry leading customer service and facilities are provided for all customers by performing regular groundskeeping projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the property is well maintained and managed in accordance with guidelines
  • Foster good resident relations and implement approved programs in accordance with budget guidelines
  • Responsible for completion of projects as required/requested by the Community Manager; assist maintenance personnel, as required
  • Adhere to property cleaning schedule
  • Work in conjunction with contractors to complete various tasks
  • Routine maintenance projects including, but not limited to, regular monitoring and replacement of all lights (as required); undertaking external routine maintenance duties
  • Custodial projects including maintenance of entrances and corridors, ensuring they are kept clean and free of obstacles or dangers and debris; monitor and remove garbage from garbage barrels; internal and external maintenance (in and around property) - clean, clear and remove all debris from all sidewalks (dirt, snow, ice, litter, etc.); maintenance of garbage chutes, garbage and elevator rooms; carwash (clean, maintain, order supplies)
  • Regular check of properties for vandalism/graffiti and removal as needed
  • Equipment utilization, maintenance and repair (tractor, snow blower/broom, weed eater, pressure washer, tools and door maintenance)
  • Groundskeeping – sweep paving brick, driveways, ramps and walks, removal of leaves, dirt, ice, snow etc.; maintain all exterior landscaping in summer
  • Ensure compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act in all procedures
  • Ensure local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations are being observed at the community
  • Ensure comprehension and compliance with all Westcorp Properties Inc. Playbook policies by community staff
  • Other duties, as required by Community Manager/Property Management Team

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Two years relevant experience
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Exceptional communication ability
  • Physically fit – ability to lift, move, alter items of weight
  • Safety oriented and safety conscience
  • Must be able to work efficiently and independently
  • Proven customer service/resident relation skills
  • Must be flexible and willing to change roles or responsibilities as required
  • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to drive a tractor
  • Security clearance required upon offer of employment
  • Possess sensational customer service philosophy
  • Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment
