Position Title: Human Resources Support Team Member
Job Status: Temporary Position (1 - 3 months)

Position Summary:
The Human Resources Support Team Member is primarily responsible for assisting the Corporate Director of Human Resources with the execution of company-wide HR processes and people programs. In addition, the successful candidate will support all Team Leaders with their day- to-day HR related needs and inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the screening process and hiring of staff as required including background checks
  • Perform audit check lists of New Hire and Termination paperwork
  • Assist with the administration of Group Benefits and handle member inquiries
  • Provide support with the administration of the disability claims management process i.e. WCB injuries
  • Create, update and revise HR forms, templates, and other HR documents as needed
  • Assist with the coordination of Employee Engagement initiatives (People Programs)
  • Be an active member of the Westcorp Corporate Events Committee
  • Assist Team Leaders with their recruitment and new hire on-boarding activities
  • Draft job postings on company template and upload onto our company website
  • Distribute job postings internally and advertise on other websites and community boards
  • Maintain and manage files of recruitment resumes in the webmail email
  • Maintain the career page of the company Website ensuring all open positions are posted on-line and filled
  • Assist with planning and organizing of company career/job fairs
  • Assist with the preparation and scheduling of the New Employee Orientation sessions
  • Coordinate the scheduling of internal and external training/education workshops for employees
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with other HR support staff on HR initiatives
  • Prepare letters of employment and general correspondence
  • Perform other general HR administrative tasks as assigned by Team Leaders and the Corporate Director of Human Resources

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Professional HR experience an asset
  • Knowledgeable in Human Resources principles and employment rules/legislation
  • Experience interacting with internal and external contacts
  • Advanced technical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High degree of confidentiality and knowledge of privacy legislation
  • Security clearance required upon offer of employment
  • Possess sensational customer service philosophy
  • Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment
