West Side Family Place (WSFP) is looking for a qualified intern to assist in the organization and coordination of its major fundraising event, the Annual Fall Frenzy Gala and to oversee the success of its 2014 fundraising campaign. All the proceeds from the fundraising gala and campaign will fund WSFP’s early childhood development programs and family support services benefiting families with young children in the community.
Experience in the not-for-profit sector
Experience in fundraising and/or event coordination
Interest in marketing and communications
Ability to multi-task
Good communication skills
Good computer skills and use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher
Knowledge of early childhood development, family studies, and social services an asset

Deliverables / Duties
Securing auction items and sponsorship
Producing print/marketing materials: evening program, signage, bid sheets, easel cards, social media posts, website updates, etc.
Recruiting and managing event volunteers
Organizing live and silent auction items and auction tables
Post-event administration: (e.g. mailing thank you letters)
Data entering/maintaining records
*Duties may sometimes vary depending on the immediate needs of WSFP
Required to attend the Annual Fall Frenzy Gala on October 23, 2014 (all day set-up and take-down). Police record check completed on first day of internship.
Valid driver’s license and access to use of own vehicle an asset.
