An okay place to work
Customer Service Rep (Former Employee), Niles, OHAugust 10, 2014
Pros: easy schedule management, helpful management team
Cons: not all the rules are clearly spelled out, repetitive
One of the first things you learn at West is how to multitask between listening to the customer for helpful words to resolve their issue, responding to them and working through the computer to get where you need to. The Team Leads are usually more than willing to help if you have a question or come across a problem.
Because it's a call center you can – more... expect a great deal of repetitiveness. If you've taken one payment you've taken them all and the flow of calls isn't all that different throughout your work shift. – less

Operations Supervisor (Current Employee), Huntsville, ALAugust 9, 2014
Pros: multi cultural
Cons: extended shifts
A day at West is very fast pace. The information changes while working line groups. I have learned that people in certain fields have a love for their product. Management always equip everyone with the information that is needed to produce daily. Co workers come to work with a must do will. The hardest part of the day is when information isnt available – more... to do your job. The best part of the day is when you are used by staff to complete tasks. – less

Good company to gain experience
Customer Service Advocate (Current Employee), Rocky MountAugust 4, 2014
Pros: salary
Cons: strict rules
This is a good company to work for if you have the personality to handle angry people on the phone and not take it personally. It is easy to get a job here but not keep it due to the strict guidelines that some are not willing to follow along with keeping schedule attendance. Personally, I believe with the type of abuse we take on the phone on a daily – more... basis, more breaks are needed during the work day. – less

The job in itself was an awesome job. The people in management ran employees out. They were rude and not open to speak with employees. The turnaround rate was extremely high.

Short Sale Support Agent (Former Employee), Spokane Valley, WAJuly 28, 2014
Pros: no comment
Cons: everything
The management was terrible. We were told to lie to customers. If customers were angry, our managers would keep them on hold longer than needed. Customers had committed suicide while on the phone with them, because we were the bearer of bad news about there Short Sale Mortgage.

Account Management Specialist (Former Employee), Tulsa, OKlahomaJuly 27, 2014
Pros: occasional bonus
Cons: healthcare benefits
Mostly computer work for the 8 hour shift.
Spoke to partners, sales teams, and clients that were assigned to me under a certain region.
Management changed regularly.
Hardest part of day was when Sales Teams couldn't understand why the Bell Companies couldn't build the circuits on time or install the fiber network on time.
Most enjoyable part of the – more... job was working with the Partners and the Customers. – less

Great Co-workers, Poor Employee Longevity
Programmer Analyst / IVR Application Developer (Current Employee), Omaha, NEJuly 26, 2014
Pros: team managers, close groups
Cons: compensation, pto
Software development mostly focusing on proprietary languages or IDEs. Work is not too challenging, but pay is far below regional average. Poor equipment for software developers with expectations that are unrealistic for the salary a worker receives. Co-workers and local management are compassionate and great to work with. Company provides many chances – more... to take breaks daily and is understanding to their workers personal obligations. Good starting company, but not a place to retire from. – less
