Title Monitor Room Operator
City Surrey, BC
Hours of Work Full Time – days, evenings, overnights, holidays/weekends
Salary/Wage $ 11.50

Job Description
Commissionaires BC is looking for applicants who enjoy working independently and with systems and procedures. As a successful candidate you are customer service focused, highly reliable, have strong communication skills, and have intermediate computer capabilities. You will be required to successfully complete and obtain a criminal background and security clearance.

Key Accountabilities

  • To operate, monitor and prioritise all security systems in a efficient proactive/reactive manner, ensuring that all work undertaken in compliance with the operating procedures.
  • To record all events and actions monitored from within the control room in a clear, legible and accurate written format.
  • To provide an efficient and courteous radio and telephone answering service and deal efficiently with all enquiries
  • Lock and secure buildings as required.
  • Interior patrols when required.
  • Respond to and communicate emergency situations.
  • Report to site supervisor on day to day with any issues relating to the camera monitoring system as they arise.
  • Perform other duties as outlined CRA Surrey.

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience
At a minimum, applicants must meet the following educational and training qualifications prior to commencement of position duties.

  • Basic Security Training and a valid Security License
  • Good command of the English language (oral and written).
  • Be able to provide evidence of an effective level of written and oral communication.
  • Experience in the use of computer based and clear and concise report writing skills.
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve;
  • Clean criminal background check and ability to obtain clearances required;
