Great workplace with a very friendly staff
Cashier (Current Employee), Coquitlam, BC – January 19, 2013
Pros: great environment
Cons: not enough hours
My workplace at Wendy's is a great environment to work at. The regular customers are great and the staff is also very friendly. We work as a big family rather than a team and I never get tired of working because of the ambience. The hardest part of the job however is not having enough hours a week as we have so many employees. However, the management – more... tries hard to please everybody but they cannot always satisfy all demands. – less

a fast pace workplace
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Truro, NS – January 17, 2013
Pros: good people
Cons: bad hours
A typical day at Wendys would be taking costumers orders, preparing food, working with others and cleaning. I learned how to work well with others and how to work at a fast pace. The management was very good they were very friendly and helpful. My co-workers for very fun to work with and be around. The hardest part about the job was how fast you had – more... to be and if something wasnt done right you had to do it again, do it good and do it fast. What I liked most about working at Wendys was the people I worked with. – less

Lots responsibility
Crew (Former Employee), Kanata, ON – January 13, 2013
Pros: actually helped train several co-workers
Cons: too many overtime shifts
I was required to open the restaurant early morning and continue onto the lunch rush.

Often I was in charge of the Grill, but I also took customer orders, and slow moments was required to do prep work for the next shift.

* Management was ok, but not fully focused
* My co-workers were very nice, easy to get a long with
* Hardest part of the job was dealing with the owner
* The most enjoyable part of the job was dealing with guests that came in. Talking to them was the best part of my shift.

A very full, rich, learning experience
Cashier and opening preparation duties (Current Employee), Winnipeg, Manitoba – December 28, 2012
Pros: uniforms, good relationships, learning experiences
Cons: difficulty communicating, being over-criticized
A typical day at work has most often included doing lettuce preparation for the first few hours. When we have opened, my job has been to take orders for inside the restaurant, and I stock and clean when there are no customers.
I have learned many things. I have learned better ways to clean certain areas, how to deal with different kinds of customers, – more... co-workers, how to use a toilet plunger, and more about communication in many ways.
Management has been trial, error, and enjoyment. The managers I started with, I enjoyed all of them, though one brought about some difficult learning experiences. There have been some I have walked on eggshells around, and others who I have bonded with. My co-workers, many have come and gone, some I have kept in touch with and some I have not.
The hardest part of the job is getting everything done in time and properly. Inspections happened every few months and that was difficult. I am still learning the best ways to take criticism, and it can still be painful. I am also still learning how to hide the hurt from criticism from the customers.
The most enjoyable part has been getting to know customers who are regulars. Those who have a regular order, I call them "favorite customers" and it keeps them coming back. I will miss them. – less

Easy money, great for students, sometimes questionable management
Crew Member (Former Employee), London, ON – December 6, 2012
For the most part, I enjoyed by experience working with Wendy's. I learned valuable customer service skills that I can use in future jobs, and worked with a great bunch of people. My only issues with the management in the restaurant that I worked in is that they were very unorganized, made working with the top managers overly stressful, and they did – more... not provide me with proper information when I moved for school and wanted to come back for the holidays. The hardest part was dealing with rude customers and working with head management. The most enjoyable part was getting to meet nice customers and talking to the older people who came in regularly. – less

Fun workplace
Shift Manager (Former Employee), Mississauga,ON – December 6, 2012
Pros: 100% free lunch
Cons: up to 44 hours/week
Wendys was anohter fun place to work at. A typical day i had at wendys when 3 of the employees called in sick and i had to work with 10 employees insted of 13. I've learned a lot from this job, to be good listener,be patience, multi-tasking, leadership, quick thinking/decision making. anagement, i would say was very good, GM would make the schedule – more... equally, give you the right training form time-to-time. Hardest part of the job was shift work. I had to work shifts, morning, mid-shift, and afternoon. Most enjoyable part of the job is when all employees were at work and shift went so smooth and all the customers were leaving happy and broke record for service time. – less

Fast paced, labour intensive job
Food Service Worker (Current Employee), Burnside, NS – November 7, 2012
Pros: fifty percent employee discount
Cons: short hours, dirty work
Some of my co-workers are fun to work with. The hardest part is working three or four hour shifts nearly every day of the week and barely getting part time hours. Most of the job is cleaning and maintenance which can cause physical and mental stress.

A good place to work
Crew Member (Former Employee), Lindsay, ON – November 1, 2012
Pros: the people, the experience
Cons: the pace expected of me
Not the best, but definitely not the worst. The experience was made by the people there, and they were what made it enjoyable. Four and a half years of working there gave me plenty of experience handling cash and helping guests with orders. Unfortunately, the pace was a bit much for me, but not enough for it to ruin the experience. Would certainly work – more... there again if needed. – less
