Tight crew that worked well and played well together.
Administrative Assistant III (Former Employee), Houston, TXMarch 13, 2014
Pros: flexible projects with deadlines
Cons: traffic, there is always work being done on roads and freeways and always traffic.
Most people got to work much earlier than needed to get the day started off right. Management had a good feel for what was happening not only on a daily basis, but worked well meeting their goals and objectives, done and in on time.
Hardest part of my job was when there were problems in accounting that were not addressed early enough and I was the back – more... up.
The most enjoyable part of my day was working on ways to streamline processes and look for ways to make financial contributions. Along with the time to study new office equipment and plan motivational activities. – less

Cons: company is going through changes that affects by the 1000's
.Awesome experience and I was laid off due to restructure.

Came into work with a mission and executed with great support.
I learned a lot about politics and enjoyed being mentored by upper management.
Hardest part about the job is that matrix, yes its needed I understand. Its just that sometimes we have to focus on the people.

Global Business Unit Product Line Controller (Current Employee), Houston, TexasMarch 10, 2014
Pros: it's a very large company.
Cons: it's a very large company.
My day can vary from doing accounting work, managing people, being part of a leardership team, assisting other plants and divisions, developing processes and procedures, assiting customers and vendors with issues and in general doing what is necessary to drive excellence.

management does not care about employees.
Field Service Technician (Current Employee), Bakersfield, CAMarch 6, 2014
Pros: paid lunches
Cons: management, hours, work life/home life balance, pay is terrible
Managers hold very regular skeet shoots and other events but employees are not invited to such events. There are no incentives for working safely other than keeping all your fingers pretty much. In 2 years there's been one safety BBQ and it was only because someone got seriously hurt and they didn't want to get sued. The pay is terrible

Great place to work, but upper management lacks integrity
Project Analyst (Former Employee), Houston, TXMarch 6, 2014
Pros: great manager!!
Cons: poor upper management.
Like ENRON. Weatherford had to cut 7,000 jobs because of findings of guilt in foreign corrupt practices.

Promises of exposure to new technology never realized.

INVENTORY CONTROL CLERK/WAREHOUSE ATTENDANT (Current Employee), Fort Worth, TXMarch 5, 2014
Pros: nice environment, good equipment, nice co-workers
Cons: direct management
Good company, poor management in warehouse.
I enjoyed ordering and tracking part inventories.
I learned a lot and enjoyed my co-workers in the warehouse.
The hardest part of the job was trying to do my job with no communication from my supervisor. That taught me to go find out what I needed to know by using alternate sources,

Wish I hadn't been laid off, cause I loved it there
Admin II (Former Employee), San Antonio, TXFebruary 27, 2014
Pros: hours, people, lunches
Cons: location too far south
The San Antonio facility is beautiful. It was awesome to be able to break into the oil field services for a little while and learn some from them. I was only able to work for them for 4 months, before getting laid off, and that was a little sad.

My only concern for them was the little oversight they had on product lines spending money. They need more – more... disiplinary actions for people who outright steal time and money from the company.

Some of the cliques were hard to get used to at first... but strong people can over come this. – less

Not a bad place to work but Job security and Mates culture makes it stressful
Cementation tech (Former Employee), Chinchilla QLDFebruary 25, 2014
Pros: good social atmosphere
Cons: too many secret squirrel type groups and being left out of things
Start 8am but be there 15 min early for meeting. Then find out what you have to do that day then commence work.
The job is very technical and I learned a lot about wells and drilling.
Management are fairly good but can be very secretive at times. Lots of things are on a need to know basis and if you are a bit different, as in age, life style or financial – more... capability you tend to be left out or ignored. Most decisions are made off site and so knowledge of local conditions is negligible
The work force are young and diverse and generally a good bunch.
The hardest part of the job is it is mentally and physically demanding.
I enjoyed learning new things and challenging myself. – less
