Our Client is a world class automotive supplier located just to the east of the GTA. The environment is stamping and welding and they are looking for a plant engineer that updates labour routings and operation descriptions and is familiar with tools like MOST. They are looking to pay approximately 70k (based on experience) + OT at 1.5% but the range and that range is flexible according to experience. In addition my contact information is below.

Responsibilities Include:

Developing implementation strategies for modifications to plant layout and production processes. Determining manpower requirements and modifying work methods. Updating labour routings and operation descriptions.
Designing work fixtures and modifying, as required by production. Researching and purchasing tools and equipment.
Setting labour standard through time studies or MOST analysis for existing or future processes.
Cost analysis to determine feasibility of new products or processes and writing PAR’s.
Analyzing ergonomic concerns and implementing solutions.
Creating and maintaining AQP documents (PFMEA, PFD, SWI).
Assisting with MDE certification of approval process.
Managing facility alterations and improvements.
Ensuring world class quality standards to produce quality seats which meet and exceed customer’s specification and expectations.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Time study using standard data, preferably MOST
Process design for just in time delivery
Process documentation including PFD, SWI and FMEA
AutoCAD experience for plant layout, tool and equipment drawing
Strengths in machinery and tooling specifications and selection, process planning, project planning and project management
Industrial automation including pneumatics, power transmission, controls
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Experience in a unionized plant
Initiative, responsibility and ability to commit time to project competition
Strong analytical skills and problem solving
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Dipolma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or Technologist
Experience in an automotive manufacturing setting is an asset
In addition Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix), DeviceNet, ABB & FANUC robots, AGC’s, AGV’s are all assets
