We Care is currently looking for a Full-time Manager of Personal Support Services to join our Ottawa team.
To lead the Personal Support team in the achievement of outcomes dedicated to safe, quality care
Supervision: ensures the delivery of safe, competent and compassionate frontline care
-Ensure adherence to ethical practices
-Performance management of office and field staff
Practice Support: ensures adherence to health care best practices
-Demonstrates clinical expertise by applying theory and knowledge of community nursing practice and acts as a resource to staff
-Provides assessment, support and problem solving strategies
-Ensures implementation and adherence to all contract requirements.
-Represents the organization on committees
-Supports development of staff skills and knowledge through an effective education plan.
Communication: implementation and monitors adherence to the communication plan
-Communicates effectively and consistently through regular staff meetings.
-Acts as a liaison with government agencies in matters of service delivery.
-Assists administrative staff with appropriate course of action when problem solving
-Effective communication with administrative staff continually and regularly
-Completes monthly and quarterly reports
Quality Management: leads performance measurement activities
-Provides education and direction for all staff to ensure adherence to the quality management
Risk Management: creates a culture of adverse event reporting leading to risk reduction and improved safety for clients and staff
-Ensures that all adverse events are documented, analyzed and appropriate follow up actions are taken to minimize the risk.
-Completes required reports for risk management
Health and Safety
-Is conscience of the hazards in the home environment and acts accordingly in meeting the safety and protection needs of the Client and staff. In keeping with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, will take every reasonable precaution to ensure that the workplace is safe.
Other duties as assigned
-Current RPN/RN Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses and is in compliance with all applicable laws relating to the practice of Nursing in Ontario
-Minimum of 3 years of nursing/management experience in a community health organization.
-Nursing diploma/degree required
-Business Background an asset
-Demonstrated supervisory experience within a fast paced, rapidly changing business environment.
-Strong written and oral communication skills.
-Ability to lead by example, promote positive employee relations and employee engagement.
-Exceptional customer service skills are required to effectively interact with staff, management and external customers.
-Self-confident, enthusiastic, friendly, positive, self-starting, competitive, creative, active and independent.
-Ability to motivate, mentor, counsel, coach and support staff.
