District Operations Manager (Current Employee), Brockville, ONOctober 19, 2012
Pros: freedom to run the business
Cons: long hours can be encountered
The nice part of this career is the ever changing environment in which I work. No two days are ever the same. The challenges are to adapt to the changes that you face almost daily. We have an outstanding safety culture and everyone works toward a goal of zero incidents and injuries.

Fun workplace
painter/welder (Former Employee), Dartmouth Nova ScotiaJuly 6, 2012
typical day of work started by cleaning out shop bay. then bringing bins in that needed welding and paint. i learned how to safely weld and do so at a productive pace. all my co-workers were very easy to get along with and made my job alot easier. the hardest part of my job was learning how to get in a routine at first to ensure my work was at 100% – more... but also to be very productive as well. i enjoyed every aspect of with waste management – less

Waste Management- Fast Paced environment
Recycle Sorter-Labourer (Former Employee), Sarnia, ONApril 23, 2012
Pros: company was great, fast paced environment
Cons: location would get very hot in the summer.
Work at waste management was fun and very fast paced, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The team that I worked in was enjoyable and I developed a great relationship with my manager, since I was willing to do some work that other team members were reluctant to complete.

I enjoyed my time at Waste Management, but when the plant closed I had to relocate.

Productive and fun place
Sorter (Former Employee), Sacramento, CANovember 18, 2014
Pros: taco truck outside so we dont have to leave for lunch, nice and friendly staff members
Cons: too much overtime sometimes, refrigerator did not work. hot and cool temperatures.
Enjoyed all the overtime hours.

I learned how to work in a crowded environment.

The workers were friendly.

Hardest part of the job is when we have to remove the trash from the bales, some of the trash is very difficult to pull out and they might send them back if not picked properly.

A day on the field
Spotter (Current Employee), Irwindale, CANovember 12, 2014
Pros: good hours, decent pay, great crew
Cons: weather (heat) dehydration
Every morning would start off with a cool breeze, at a steady pace. but sure enough the sun would be blazing and the bottom dumbs super tens and semis would come pouring in ready to fill that lot. I loved that job! the money was decent the hours never seemed to long and my co-workers definitely made work feel like a home away from home. I learned a – more... lot about different materials such as asphalt marble, tile, glass. How they can effect us just by standing next to itfor a few moments let alone what it could do out in our community, – less

not a promising employer
Setup Agent I (Current Employee), Phoenix ArizonaNovember 9, 2014
Pros: weekly pay, two 15 minute breaks and 1hour lunch
Cons: big talk about how much they care about employees prior to hiring, then turnover rate of employees resigning about 80%, not enough pay
Typical data entry job, leadership could use more managing skills, not enough employee recognition, lack of company involvement with employee satisfaction compared to customer satisfaction

Unpredictable work day with little to no support from management
Senior Welder and Tech (Current Employee), Henderson, CONovember 6, 2014
Cons: rarely have breaks throughout the day.
Daily job began at 7:00am with a small briefing. Tickets for repair work to be completed on malfunctioning compactors put into order of importance and need. I am the only field hydraulic repair man and my day is very long. My day should end at 3:30 but I have never finished a day on time. My day usually ends at 6:00. The hardest part about my day is – more... the lack of support and communication between the home office, dispatch, customers, and field tech. – less
