The recording industry is one of the most sought-after, high profile fields among college students. We are looking to provide you with an opportunity to develop experience and connections (In this business, it is all about connections). An internship is one of the best ways to gain vital experience and make important contacts. Through this internship, you will gain access to music industry contacts and take the next step towards building your relationships with music industry professionals.
We have multiple Chapter offices in cities across the U.S. as well as Canada. We are looking for someone who can represent the Canadian Chapter and report back to the US chapters and your Canadian rep/supervisor. We prefer someone who has already explored the Canadian music industry and has developed some contacts. We would expect you to continue relationships with the labels, channels, promoters and companies we deal with day to day and also establish new relationships and foster them. You will gain experience with showcases, networking opportunities, local awards, in studio, Artist relations, personal assistance to artist team, etc.
Preferred but not necessary: Currently enrolled in a college/university
One year of course work towards degree in related field is preferred.
Experience one of the following:
*Record label, personal assistant, artist relations, media company, publicity, internet marketing, social media company, music blogger, promotions company, music festival background, advertising, grant assistance, website design (music related)
*Display an interest in music and commitment to a career in the recording industry.
*Possess strong verbal, written and analytical skills.
*Exhibit proficient computer skills.
*Tech savvy and up to date with latest social media tools
Internship duration is for a semester (16 weeks or equivalent).
Hours are part-time (15-20 hours a week).
Intern will work either from home, and local events during regular business hours as well as some evenings and weekends.
Internship will provide in-depth exposure to professional recording industry techniques and practices.
Projects may include assistance with event management, educational programs, newsletters, membership recruitment, database management, demographics analysis, marketing/PR and administrative office support.
The position: There are a couple positions available for our Canadian Chapter. This would be a 3-4 month music industry Internship, non-paid, which can potentially lead to a part time entry-level position depending on your performance. We are looking for young professionals that are looking to gain very valuable experience, create high-level connections, and pursue their passion in a music-oriented career. Hours are flexible and you have the option to work from home for majority of the hours. Weekly meeting are mandatory via Skype with Artist management in the US and CANADA.

Must have a passion for POP music
Knowledge and ability to utilize social media for marketing
Organized - Strong interpersonal
Communications skills -MUST- understand the importance of constant communication and staying in touch in between tasks
Knowledge/experience in marketing, advertising, and/or web technologies is an asset - Marketing experience
- Must have experience running Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc
- Contests, promotional campaign, iTunes promotions, directing traffic back to website
- Creating a plan to stay relevant and interesting
- Preferably knows how to use hoot suite.

Role and Responsibilities: - Identify and research strong marketing channels for electronic product distribution - Create a strategic marketing plan, targeting specific demographics - Establishing and managing relationships with key partners and distributors - Assist with day-to-day operations - Updating and utilizing social media channels - Seek out and establish advertising contracts

PR assistant: Looking for one PR assistant or PR blog specialist. Gain valuable experience with music industry professionals and contacts. Add clients under your belt.
*Have network of blog sites, know your way around music sites, have the ability to search for features for artists.
- Securing blog INTERVIEW, features, magazine features, spreads and public events.

WEBSITE DESIGNERS/ Graphic DESIGNERS:
