JOB SUMMARY

The program director provides operational management and leadership for a cluster of related programs, including direct supervision of program managers. Financial management and administration, human resources management, quality assurance, and business development for this CARF-accredited agency. His/her focus is on business, administration, and networking, as well as oversight of contract management and WJS relationships related to responsibilities. S/He ensures managers/coordinators operate programs according to applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations and provincially-determined standards, and that all programs comply with contractual obligations. As a member of the provincial management group, the program director participates in developing and approving policies and procedures, and contributes to agency decision-making. The program director also participates in national planning initiatives within the company.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST POSSESS

  • Valid CPR/First Aid
  • Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate
  • Clear TB Screening and doctors note
  • Conflict Resolution Certificate
  • Current clear Criminal Record check (Police and Attorney General)
  • Ability to pass licensing and/or ministry screenings
  • A degree in the humanities social sciences or related field and/or related experience
  • 3 -- 5 years experience in a similar management or human resources generalist position.
  • Must have specific experience with financial and human resource management.

REQUIRED SKILL AND ABILITIES

  • Must have knowledge of home share and PSI services.
  • Must have ability to prevent, assess, manage and mitigate risk within the services.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to re-prioritize and adjust to interruptions and changing requirements
  • Knowledge of human resource management principles and practices; employee development and performance management skills, including ability to supervise and train managers, and organize, prioritize and schedule work.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment, work effectively both independently and as a member of a team, work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community, and adapt to a variety of schedules and working conditions. Training and experience in negotiations, mediation and conflict resolution an asset in dealing with all agency stakeholders
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities, examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new policies and procedures; able to investigate and gather and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of best practices in field; ability to develop, implement, evaluate and modify individual program plans; knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines, policies and standards relating to service delivery.
  • Able to assess and track changes and trends in service delivery and service environment, and plan and implement appropriate changes.
  • Able to collect, organize, prepare and edit correspondence, reports and other documentation maintain files and records according to applicable agency, ministry and accreditation standards.
