The Role:

This position is responsible for the administration of the company’s time and attendance and payroll systems. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of payroll including recordkeeping and reporting. This position reports to the Payroll Manager.

Responsibilities and Expectations include:

Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP for 500+ hourly and salaried staff
Verify employee hours on timecards from ezLabor and download file to payroll system
Process monthly commissions and bonuses
Calculate and process pay adjustments
Check payroll entries when registers received from ADP
Process manual cheques as required
Stop payment and preparation of replacement cheques as required
Enter new hires into the payroll systems
Maintain personnel files by updating payroll database
Process terminations and issue Records of Employment
Prepare and maintain related payroll records and reports
Track and remit garnishment and family support payments
Provide information to employees on payroll and benefit plan matters
Complete inquiries for payroll information from Service Canada
Respond to inquiries from other departments and external organizations
Administration of group benefit plan and RRSP program
Other related duties as assigned

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

At least 2 years of payroll experience
CPA certification preferred or actively pursuing
Proficient with the employment standards legislation for all provinces and Federal legislation
Excellent knowledge of payroll processes
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters related to employee compensation and benefits
Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Must have the ability to prioritize and organize time effectively to meet strict deadlines
Must have strong interpersonal and team skills
Must have exceptional communication skills
Knowledge of ADP PCPW an asset
