Job Work/Life Balance
Great place to work and get some experience
Patient Transfer Attendant (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 15 February 2018
I have worked her for close to 4 years and have met some amazing people along the way. Everyone that works at Voyageur is great and easy to get along with. I have also gained some great knowledge, new experiences and relative work experience for my future career.
Driver (Former Employee) – London, ON – 25 January 2018
Voyageur is a great company to help get someone on the road in their driving career. They look primarily at you and what your abilities are, and what they can help you achieve. Many companies are afraid to hire drivers around/under 25 years old, and that it not the case here. The workplace is generally fun, and comforting. Your dispatcher and direct supervisors are always very nice and helpful, and will typically give you their direct numbers so you can get assistance with unexpected issues when needed. The support team from Maitenance staff, to Trainers is amazing, and there are many opportunities to move within the company through its different divisions.
The compensation was great, until the minimum wage hike moved everything to the 14/15 an hour mark. Unfortunately some of the multi year contracts for services didn’t plan for a quick jump/spike in operational costs, and many positions are still what they were before the minimum wage increase which makes many people feel a little sour towards the topic (ie. drivers who were paid 14 before the increase, are still paid 14 now).
Overall, Voyageur is a fairly good employer with lots of opportunities for persons of all age to start their career in commercial passenger transportation.
Free License Upgrades, Non-Age Discriminatory, Good support network, Flexibility for scheduling
Lower compensation, Potential for long days (commercial driver max of 14), Often late nights/weekends
