This is a temporary 6 month contract position, but could lead to permanent position as required.
Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for the product costing activities of the company. You will be responsible for providing quality Analysis and Reporting to assist in understanding and explaining the monthly results. This position oversees the Procedures for Inventory Safeguard and Control and ensures the Accounting Procedures adhere to GAAP and approved company policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Maintain and update standard cost in ERP system for manufactured and purchased inventory
*Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts
*Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
*Update bills of materials to ensure accurate product costing and proper consumption of inventory
*Provide variance analysis (standard vs. budgeted and actual costs)
*Analyze profitability reports by Customer and Family product
*Reconcile and explain Inventory related GL accounts
*Provide detailed inventory analysis by Item groups to ensure proper Inventory valuations
*Validate the inventory values and cost of goods sold as part of month end close
*Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles
*Prepare and post month end inventory adjusting journal entries and Amortization/Depreciation expenses
*Gather and analyze data for Mass standard cost update
*All other duties as assigned
*Solid Costing experience in manufacturing
*Accounting Designation (CA, CMA, CGA)
*5-6 years previous manufacturing experience
*Detailed understanding of ERP system, and Microsoft Excel; experience using ERP system Microsoft Dynamics AX would be a definite asset
*Excellent analytical skills
*Working with large databases and data
