Our client, a boutique law firm located downtown Toronto, is looking to hire a Patent Clerk to join the team. Reporting to the Office Manager and working closely with the intellectual property lawyers, patent agents and other professionals, the Patent Clerk will be a valued member of the team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience within an IP environment, with a focus on Patents, solid experience using PATTSY and a DM system in addition to the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
The Patent Clerk will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and patent applications which includes reviewing correspondence, communicating with clients and completing filings with CIPO. Additional duties include staying up to date with changing legislation, rules and regulations, effectively organize and prioritize work to ensure deadlines, including Client Service Rules are met and attend training sessions as required.
