POSITION’S PROFILE

Name of position : Director of operations- Phoenix Glass
Department : Operations
Reports to : General Manager/ Corporate Director of Operations

SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the General Manager of the division with a dotted line to the Corporate Director of Operations of the Atis Group, the Director of Operations ensures operational profitability and implements policies, strategies, and objectives designed to optimize all operational processes from the estimation(quoting) of our projects to their installation.

With a strong background in lean manufacturing, the Director of operations will be responsible for the implementation of a lean management system including team roles and responsibilities, manufacturing processes, installation processes on construction sites, performance indicators, communication structures and optimization of the use of operations-related material and human resources.

The Director of operations establishes and manages divisional operations budgets and assists the General Manager and the Controller in preparing short- and long-term growth plans.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Establish operations-related performance objectives and indicators and monitor performance
  • Define roles and responsibilities of team members
  • Implement lean manufacturing and installation processes and optimize the use of operations-related material and human resources
  • Implement a communication structure to coordinate and improve operations
  • Manage plant lay-out. streamlining, production efficiency and productivity
  • Manage capitalization demands with regard to equipment and capital assets
  • Lead production, installation and manufacturing-related research activities
  • Approve and implement quality control programs
  • Ensure the optimization and necessary control of the inventory
  • Establish divisional operations budgets and manage operations to meet current-year objectives
  • Identify and foster synergies as well as new organizational structures in accordance with strategic development within division and with management objectives
  • Be a positive leader and catalyst with regard to organizational change company-wide
  • Ensure the rigorous application of corporate policies

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • University education/training in engineering (industrial or mechanical )or equivalent experience
  • Over 8 years’ experience as a Director or Operations /Production in the manufacturing Industry, ideally in the construction industry
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership and entrepreneurial skills and ability to thrive under pressure
  • Great flexibility and adaptability in a constantly evolving and steady-growth environment
  • The position is based in Delta, British Columbia
  • Ability to manage priorities and timetables
