The Director of Care is accountable for the management of client care services with the facility. The successful candidate is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the overall operation of the Nursing Department.
Select Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, coordinate, direct and evaluate all aspects of nursing care and services within the facility
Provide guidance and direction to all nursing management and staff
Ensure annual objectives are attained to meet core strategies and goals
Actively participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs and policies
Ensure the implementation of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines
Coach and mentor nurse managers
Recruit, select and facilitate the orientation of qualified team members to ensure staff compliment is maintained
10 years experience in a leadership role, with demonstrated excellence in management, clinical judgement and interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s in Nursing required, Masters degree in healthcare a definite asset
Knowledgeable about current nursing and medical practices and procedures
Registered or eligible for registration with The College and Assoc of RNs within the province
Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate with clients, their families and staff
Ability to make independent decisions
Highly motivated, organized and creative
