First Aid III (EMR) - Manitoba

Overview

Vertex Professional Services Ltd. is currently looking for numerous energetic Emergency Medical Responder personnel to work remotely throughout Manitoba on site. We currently have a need for EMR professionals to work just north of Thompson. The successful candidates will be required to hold a valid Manitoba First Aid III license. Above providing first aid treatment to sick and injured employees, the candidate holds a valid Class 4 driver’s license and has the ability to drive an ambulance. The EMR must be able to receive transfer of function from Medical Director for Automatic External Defibrillator, Epi-Pen, Nitro, Ventolin, and Pulse Oximetry.

All candidates will be required to register with the Canadian Office of Professional Employees Local 342 union upon signing with Vertex.

Specific Responsibilities of the Position
Some examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide first aid treatment to sick or injured employees within the scope of first aid principles
  • Maintains records of occurrence and treatment
  • Ensures maintenance of first aid facilities and inventory
  • Refers cases to other medical facilities

Education and Experience

  • Must have valid Manitoba First Aid III license
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
  • Valid Class 4 driver’s license (may be required to provide driver’s abstract)
  • Must be able to drive an MTC Unit
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry as it applies to medical company operations is an asset
  • CSTS
  • H2S Alive
  • TDG/WHMIS
  • CPR HCP
  • All relevant original certificates must be provided upon hiring

Location

The position will be based on site in northern Manitoba for a four month contract.

Compensation

This position will be compensated with a day rate of $325. The shifts will be 14/7.
