Minimum of at least 7 years experience installing cell sites and working comfortably at heights.
Must have a valid certificate in climbing and fall protection, as well as in first aid.
Conversant with laptop computer and wireless personal use devices.
Able to provide management with details of junior employee abilities and habits as requested.
Track record that shows steady improvement in all aspects of aerial tech work and the desire and ability to coordinate all aspects of a field project.
Installation and verification skills to be able to give instructions and field training to more junior staff for the proper completion of projects.
A valid, full-privilege provincial driver license in good standing.
Provide telecom installation services as assigned to support the company's customer base, e.g.:
Perform grounding installation.
Erection of structures.
Installation and verification of antenna and transmission lines.
Conduct visual inspections of antenna structures, aerials, co-axial cables, fixings, feeder cables and anchor points.
Carry out cable repairs including splicing and termination.
Accept more technical projects and able to show growth in a team environment.
Provide support to Project Managers by taking on project logistics coordination, inventory control, and/or technical support.
Develop installation procedures.
Carry out risk assessments and ensure inspection and use of personal safety equipment prior to commencing each project.
Generate reports on both customer and company servers.
Able to work and travel alone, take charge in a group environment with junior staff, and research technical issues to support new products or technology.
Able to work independently with their own team to complete all aspects of a project but still under the direction of a Project Manager.
Able to monitor junior field staff and report on issues and concerns.
Work directly with external customers on all issues except financial.
Ensure that safe procedures and safe equipment are in use at all times.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Physically demanding position that requires the ability to lift, carry, grip and handle unpredictable loads.
Carry out tasks at heights under diverse weather conditions including heavy rain and/or snowfall.
Carry out tasks in confined spaces.
Must be willing to travel to various locations in British Columbia, Yukon and Northwest Territories. Our head office is in Burnaby, British Columbia.
Must be willing to work some weekends and overtime.
