The Field Services Electrician will be responsible for accurately leading the installation of electrical equipment in cellular buildings and towers. This is a full time position, and will be under the direction of the Director of Operations.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has recently completed their journeyman electrician certification and has an additional minimum of two years experience working as an electrician. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to expand his/her knowledge of the telecommunications industry and learn areas outside of his/her job responsibilities as an electrician.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
Install and terminate conduit and cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devices.
Fabricate control panels, wiring check-out. Perform and/or assist with systems start up.
Lift, place and secure objects such as wiring, conduit, coaxial cable, antennas and PBX equipment.
Lead the installation of electrical equipment in cellular buildings, including: lighting, receptacle, main service and distribution, grounding, and any other electrical requirements per building, while meeting CSA standards.
Test installed electrical systems and disassembles defective electrical equipment with the ability to troubleshoot and repair.
Install, alter, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe and efficient operation.
Responsible for laying out circuits, setting up breaker and panel boxes, and installing fixtures and lights as well as other electrical equipment.
Able to recognize and rectify and/or report upon actual or potential safety hazards.

Must hold a journeyman electrician certification valid in BC, preferred across Canada (Red Seal).
Must have FSR Class B or have all of the Pre-Requisites to write the exam to obtain FSR Class B.
Minimum of two years electrical experience in a construction environment. Telecommunications experience is an asset.
A valid, full-privilege provincial driver’s license in good standing.
Detailed knowledge of the BC Electrical Code and current industry standards.
Physically demanding position that requires the ability to lift, carry, grip and handle unpredictable loads.
Carry out tasks in confined spaces, at heights and under diverse weather conditions including heavy rain and/or snowfall.
Must be willing to travel extensively to various locations in British Columbia, and potentially throughout Canada and the USA.
Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as needed.
