Receptionist (Former Employee), Toronto, ONFebruary 20, 2013
Pros: had big place for dinning and rest area
Verizon wireless, was great place to work in with friendly staff members. It was very busy with more than 10 telephone lines and over 100 employees. I learnt to multi-task and be accurate at the same time. The hardest part of the job as receptionist was to memorize names for over 100 people. I enjoyed the multicultural and non- judgemental environment.

Technical Support Coordinator and Sales (Former Employee), Irvine, CAAugust 21, 2014
Pros: great campus
Cons: hated they were always on us for taking a bathroom break
At first everything was great company moral, management, coworkers were awesome...everyone was happy. Then I would say in 2013 things started going down hill till eventually everyone was giving up and they closed our call center May 8th but still have some working till Sept. I thought I would retire from there...guessed wrong but great money went from – more... 14.90 starting to 23.59 when I left in 5 years. – less

Great money(for some), great incentives, no room for advancement, late shifts, people only stay because of the pay environment
Sales Consultant (Former Employee), Weldon Springs, MOAugust 20, 2014
Pros: pay, workforce willingness to help you with your schedule, prizes
Cons: favoritism, hours, call center enviormemt, lots of stress, quick discipline actions, being told what you can control when you can't
This company has some serious potential!!!! However in order to get there things need to change. First the pay is wonderful, and the commission plan is GREAT!!! But the biggest downside to the commission plan is if you are gated for sales. While some people make $60,$70,$80 or even $90 grand a year, the vast majority aren't. If you work your hardest – more... you can make good money, but you will never be able to knock off the top dogs. All the trips, warehouse runs, and top reward perqs go to the money makers, while those who aren't that good barely get anything (they will enter you into a drawing to win tho). Management are nice, but also management have reps for spouses(which makes for a ugly situation if you have a disagreement with them while they are on your team). Their is a TON of favoritism, scratch my back I scratch yours, and Sups in your business more then their job duties. Overall if you can stay out of trouble, and are liked you will do great!!! On the other hand if you are not liked you will go into the non seller gate (copper, non promo) and get close to no commission. Also be prepared for very long hours (bunch of OT), and being told how lucky you are for getting float time(vacation ability to leave in 2 hours at a time). Be prepared to work late hours – less

I am a management employee working in the Telecommunications industry. The hardest part of my current job is not feeling empowered to make justifiable decision.

The enjoyable part of the job is seeing the end results and knowing that my analysis will result in substantial cost savings.

Verizon is one of the few public for-profit companies offering the type of salary and compensation packages that rival federal government pay incentives.

This alone makes it a great company to be a part of.
