Sales Associate
Entry Level Sales Associate for Verizon (Former Employee), Toronto, ONSeptember 25, 2014
Pros: abroad, pay, co-workers.
This was an amazing experience. In buffalo new York there was a job fair that attended right out of high school. I applied and was hired, the catch, It was across the border in Canada. I took the opportunity to experience a different country. I sold cell phone plans in store and did extremely well, but unfortunately my work visa got hung up and I returned – more... back to Buffalo. This job made me discover my selling techniques and friendships. – less

Receptionist (Former Employee), Toronto, ONFebruary 20, 2013
Pros: had big place for dinning and rest area
Verizon wireless, was great place to work in with friendly staff members. It was very busy with more than 10 telephone lines and over 100 employees. I learnt to multi-task and be accurate at the same time. The hardest part of the job as receptionist was to memorize names for over 100 people. I enjoyed the multicultural and non- judgemental environment.

Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Dothan, ALNovember 24, 2014
I enjoyed the fast paced, every growing technology company. I learned a lot about self growth and improvement. My co-workers could always come to me to close the sale and respected me. The hardest part of the job was the high demand on my personal time.

If you can handle the pressure well worth it. If you are not ok with back to back hours, day and night. Or if you have schedule restraints, I would not say that this is the job for you. It is retail plain and simple.

Started off as a fun place to work
Store Manager (Former Employee), MonroeNovember 21, 2014
Was a fun place to work until general management decided to stop keeping phones in stock therefor making quotas harder to hit. The locally owned company is now owned by another company so hopefully all is better.

Hard work but satisfying
FiOS Installation Technician (Former Employee), RockvilleNovember 21, 2014
Pros: outdoor work, self-guided work
Cons: weather, some company micro-management
Enjoyable job, hard work, but satisfying. Great group of fellow employees to work with. Typical day started at the main hookup, proceeded to the customers home. Connected the fiber or ran fiber from the terminal. Installed power, ont, made connections, tested, cleaned up and satisfied customer. Couldn't ask for better co-workers, everyone would help – more... you if need be. Learned something new everyday. Usual corporate management politics for the most part. Local supervisors were good to work with, anything above that and it was hit or miss. – less

Ups and Downs
Retail Solutions Specialist (Current Employee), Madison, WINovember 21, 2014
Pros: tuition reimbursement, 401k matching, competitive pay.
Cons: no set schedule, varying days and hours
As a company, Verizon is a very nice place to work. Good benefits, fun environment, cutting edge technology. The workers got along fairly well. Anyone that works there needs to be on their toes and able to adapt to a fast passed and ever changing environment. There is a lot of changes that affect how you sell as well as how you get paid. Sometimes it – more... works out to your advantage and sometimes it doesn't, but over all, you can make a good living working there. The work life balance due to staffing issues at times can be horrendous. Hours will be available but there are stretches that can last 13-14 days with no day off. Also weekends off are very rare. – less
