Overview
Vega has an exciting newly created position available for an HR Coordinator at Vega’s head office in Burnaby, BC. Reporting to the HR Generalist, the HR Coordinator focuses on the day to day administration of human resources while creating a culture where people are engaged, empowered, and have the opportunity to do what they do best every day. Key Responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits

  • Assist with the preparation for annual pay reviews
  • Support managers and staff with the quarterly goal setting and assessments
  • Maintain the HR Information System (HRIS) using ADP People@Work
  • Prepare HR metric reports
  • Act as a backup to the Payroll & Benefits Administrator

Recruitment & On-Boarding

  • Review and revise job descriptions while maintaining an up-to-date library
  • Support managers with recruiting and staffing logistics
  • Maintain the Vega Careers page and other external job postings
  • Prepare all employment related contracts and agreements
  • Responsible for the coordination of new hire initial on boarding
  • Conduct new hire orientations
  • Maintain the company organizational chart

Learning & Development

  • Assist with administration of the annual Coaching and Career Development

Communication & Engagement

  • Maintain the company Intranet site
  • Coordinate the Vega Viewpoint employee engagement program
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver effective and efficient HR solutions

Employee Relations

  • Assist with the preparation of all required paperwork for terminations
  • Coordinate the employee off boarding process

Continuous Improvements

  • Assist with applications for employer awards
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement in all aspects of HR
  • Ensure legislative compliance in HR and workplace safety
  • Participate as a member of the Health & Safety Committee

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in an HR Assistant or HR Coordinator role
  • Working towards or successful completion of a business related diploma/degree program
  • Good working knowledge of basic human resources practices and methodologies
  • Experience in payroll and benefits administration is an asset
  • Experience with ADP People@Work is beneficial
  • Confidence and ability to work in a busy environment while picking up new tasks quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment and independently
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent data entry skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
