Vanderhoof and Districts Co-op, operator of a food centre, a home and agro centre, a gas bar convenience store, petroleum operations with four branch locations and 15 cardlock locations, is currently recruiting for a Building Materials Manager in Vanderhoof.
Reporting to the Home Centre Manager, the duties of this position include: sales and service, marketing, merchandising, margin, expenses, along with ordering and inventory control of the Building Materials department. The Building Materials Manager would also be responsible in the day-to-day operating activities of the Building Materials Department including staff supervision, discipline, staff performance appraisals, etc. is also a key component of this position.
Successful candidate must have a strong building materials background with sales experience in the building materials field. The applicant must possess good organizational, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
Applicants must possess a strong retail operational background in building materials commodities including ordering and control of inventory, previous experience providing quotes to customers and experience supervising and working with employees.
Successful candidate will have strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
As a member of the management team this is a salaried position requiring a minimum of 44 hours per week.
