Vancouver International College is currently hiring for the part-time position of ESL Program Director at its newly established branch in New Westminster. The position starts as a part-time role (minimum of 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday) with the progression of the role into a full-time position within a 3 month period. The salary for this position is competitive and negotiable, and is based on the previous experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.The ESL Program Director will be responsible for coordinating all English as a Second Language programs and related activities. Detailed duties include the following: provide information and guidance to teachers and schools; implement and maintain services within established guidelines and standards; develop goals and strategic plans and provide supervision as needed; collaborate with staff and faculty in order to implement and maintain services and/or programs; coordinate ESL program components and materials, and evaluate program activities for the purpose of meeting student needs while complying with program guidelines; lead and/or participate in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions; maintain all relevant records, in written and/or electronic format in order to meet program reporting requirements; prepare reports documenting guidelines, recommendations, curriculum components and other related information in order to ensure program requirements are met in an effective and timely manner; promote and encourage participation in ESL programs and related course offerings; supervise assigned program personnel for the purpose of ensuring individual and program performance objectives are met.
- Bachelor degree in a relevant field
- BC Ministry of Education teaching certificate, or BC recognized teaching certificate
- 2 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language, or English Language related courses
- ESL program design experience, or the combination of relevant education and experience
