Vancouver International College is currently hiring for the part-time position of Dean at its newly established branch in New Westminster. The position starts as a part-time role (minimum of 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday) with the progression of the role into a full-time position within a 3 month period. The salary for this position is competitive and negotiable, and is based on the previous experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. The Dean is responsible for being an active member and leader of the faculty and staff at Vancouver International College, and providing strategic vision and initiative in planning and managing the Faculty, and directing its significant contribution to the teaching policies and curriculum of the school. The challenge of this complex role will require great vision and innovation, while collaborating with diverse groups of people associated with our college. The new Dean will work to capitalize on the already established success of our Toronto branch, and will aim to achieve a similar prestigious and well-respected name for our new branch in New Westminster within the Lower Mainland and BC.
- The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated record of success as a leader and administrator in a well-respected post-secondary institution at the level of dean, associate dean or chair, or another public or private sector organization with responsibility for continuing education and lifelong learning.
- S/he will bring academic credentials appropriate to the leadership of a progressive Faculty. A graduate degree is required. Additionally, either a Ph.D or a BC Ministry of Education teaching certificate.
- Outstanding leadership and communication skills, a commitment to action and a demonstrated ability to inspire and mobilize others.
