We are currently seeking instructors for our PN Program at Vancouver Career College Burnaby campus. We have full-time and part-time positions available. Candidates seeking a full-time position must be an RN in good standing with the CRNBC, and candidates seeking a part-time position must be either an RN or LPN in good standing with the CRNBC or CLPNBC.

The Instructor will teach both the classroom and laboratory components of the program and is responsible for providing students the academic and practical skills they need to become high caliber, knowledgeable, competent and accountable practical nurses. The PN Instructor is expected to fulfill the philosophy of the program and meet the standards as set forth by the College of Licensed Practical Nursing in British Columbia (CLPNBC).

The PN Instructor is responsible for leveraging their expertise and experience to deliver education services to students through:

  • Preparing lesson plans and teaching aids that utilize a variety of teaching methods to promote student success
  • Challenging, engaging, and communicating with students to encourage their participation and learning
  • Monitoring and discussing students’ progress with them
  • Assigning and posting grades

The ideal candidate must possess the following education, experience and competencies:

  • LPN/RN in good standing with the applicable regulatory body in BC
  • Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience
  • Possess the Provincial Instructor’s Diploma (PID) or willing to pursue the credential and/or a Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Ability to motivate, engage and inspire students
  • Competent in planning and delivering instructional content
  • Teaching experience is an asset
