Human Resources Intern (Current Employee), Vancouver, BCNovember 29, 2013
Pros: volunteer opportunities, aquatic life presentations from industry experts
Cons: not long enough contracts!
As a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of ocean and aquatic life, the Vancouver Aquarium was a wonderful workplace experience.

The HR Department included me in every opportunity to gain applicable experience as a growing professional. Some of my experiences include but are not limited to: Preparing for audits; Managing independent – more... projects; Managing confidential information; Assisting in payroll administration; Full recruitment cycle; Pre-sceening culture interviews; Creating policies and procedures; Running background checks and personality assessments. – less

Fun and constantly changing workplace
Interpretive Delivery Assistant (Former Employee), Vancouver, BCJuly 5, 2013
Pros: fun co-workers
Cons: long hours
-A typical day would include interacting with kids who come to whatever station you are assigned to, answering questions/giving directions to the public, helping set up stations, carrying supplies, helping with any emergencies, and providing a friendly experience.
-I learned how to handle certain marine animals
-The hardest part was being ready for – more... an ever-changing schedule, as well as being on your feet for up to 8 hours.
-Working with people/kids, and having a hands on experience with certain animals. – less
