Valard Construction LP is seeking a qualified Health and Safety Advisor to join our team to work in various sites across Canada. The position will be starting in Manitoba. Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for providing support to the supervisors, foremen and workers. This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety requirements of the assigned project.
The ideal candidate will have an Occupational Health and Safety Degree, Diploma or Certificate; minimum 3-5 year Health and Safety field experience; demonstrable experience of working in an advisory capacity in Health & Safety; ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning employee files; demonstrable experience of working in a management capacity in Health & Safety; and the ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to company operations and activities. A superior working knowledge of MS Office is required; strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse project functions and personalities are essential. The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel. The shift worked will be 21 days of work followed by 7 days of rest. This position will work in remote areas and a camp environment.
