Valard Construction LP is Canada’s premier powerline contractor, serving clients in both public & private sectors. We offer construction services in overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations.
Valard Construction LP is seeking a qualified EIT or CET – Project Coordinator to join our team in Winnipeg, MB.
This position will be responsible for:
Planning projects in order to accomplish goals within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards
Scheduling tasks, deadlines and milestones for stakeholders and resources
Managing the projects on a day-to-day basis including preparing and forwarding project updates and reports to the PM
Coordinating communication between staff and 3rd parties as required
Liaising between the field construction staff and design engineers
Interpret drawings related to the field
Tracking and reporting project information by communicating project data in different formats; Reports, Presentations, Visio diagrams
Creating, maintaining & constantly looking to improve project processes
Interacting with clients
Managing administration duties and completing tasks as required by the PM & CM
The ideal candidate must have:
An undergraduate degree from an accredited Engineering program
Interest and experience in project management would be a strong asset
Knowledge and understanding of electrical transmission concepts would be an asset
Experience in the construction industry would be an asset
Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills; computer skills, including MS Windows and MS Office
Familiarity with MS Office & Project, Outlook, Visio, Tilos and Primavera 6 would be an asset. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel
Work schedule is 5 days of work followed by 2 days of rest.
