About Valard Construction

Since Valard Construction Ltd.'s incorporation in 1978, we have been committed to the successful completion of every project— building it safely, on time and on budget. Founded on the principles of employee inclusion, quality workmanship and the entrepreneurial spirit of our founder, Victor Budzinski, Valard has evolved into one of the largest, – more... most innovative and respected powerline contractors in Canada.

A veteran of logistically challenging projects, Valard has built transmission lines through rugged mountain passes, vast expanses of muskeg and the rock of the Canadian Shield. We have completed the construction of transmission facilities as long as 415km and to voltages as high as 260kV. Valard has also built major substations, distribution developments and residential facility developments. We can build anything, anywhere.

In 1984, Valard was awarded the Tackala Landing project in northern British Columbia. The distribution connection ran directly cross-country through the rugged terrain of the Babine Lake region, requiring extensive use of explosives for excavation and helicopters for hoisting. Valard successfully demonstrated its ability to manage projects with unique logistical challenges. Tackala Landing was also the first in a series of landmark projects that has allowed Valard to become an industry leader in Canadian transmission and distribution construction.

The successful completion of these projects has led to a substantial growth in our reputation, manpower and bonding capacity. When changes in the Canadian power industry led to the widespread ownership of and development of private transmission lines, we were prepared to enter this market competitively and successfully. In 1997 Valard was selected as one of the contractors for the Kemess Mine 230 kV line—the first major private transmission line in Canada.

Today, Valard is a full-service EPC (engineer, procure and construct) contractor, capable of providing its clients with turnkey solutions for their power system requirements. With a workforce of 450 trades-related people, 430 pieces of dedicated utility equipment and an experienced management team, Valard is dedicated to building it right. – lessMore from ZoomInfo »
