Vadim Software is looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager. The Technical Product Manager is a member of the Core Leadership team and has a strong business and technical background. You have the ability to see and execute on the 'Big Picture' view. You can communicate to techies and non-techies alike. You are constantly learning and looking for ways to innovate. You are a key part of the product team, actively participating in day to day project activities.
This role is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic plan for a specific product family; this includes identification of appropriate markets. The Technical Product Manager is involved through all stages of a product family’s lifecycle. Strategically, he/she develops close relationships with the market players (i.e. customers, evaluators, legislative bodies and potential clients) to raise and maintain awareness of market needs.
On a technical level, the Technical Product Manager is responsible for defining market and legislative requirements and ensuring those requirements are reflected in the product releases. Internally, close interaction with development leads and product architects is necessary.
This position is based in Kelowna, BC and reports to the Director of Product Development & Delivery.
Duties & Responsibilites:
− Provide business plan oversight of strategy, technical, and marketing aspects of all products in the portfolio
− Analyze the competitive landscape
− Monitor and incorporate industry innovations and legislative requirements
− Maintain the product portfolio roadmap
− Discover and validate market problems (for both existing and future customers)
− Observe the typical buying and go-to-market processes of the market
− Gather requirements from existing and potential customers, evaluators and legislative bodies
− Seek new market opportunities by leveraging the company’s distinctive competence
− Define and size market segments; identify product positioning and distribution strategies
− Write product requirements and use scenarios
− Monitor agile product backlogs and the implementation of each product project
− Define user personas for individual products
− Compile market requirements documents pertaining to product defects, product enhancement and new products
− Evaluate buy/build/partner decisions for 3rd party products and assess technology to determine fit with market demand/requirements and product roadmap
− Maintain a status dashboard for all portfolio products
− Other duties as assigned
− Leader the product design team consisting of business analysts and contract design resources
− Govern the operational functions of Vadim Software through the core leadership team
− Demonstrate team spirit by contributing to a positive and high performance team environment
− Assist others and always put forth your best effort with any individual or team related project
− Assist with client seminars, demonstrations and conferences
− Adhere to the policies and procedures as practiced by the team and company as a whole
− Attend and participate in team meetings as required
− Complete timesheets in a timely and accurate manner
Education & Experience Required:
− Must be a Designated Accountant – CA, CGA or CMA
− Bachelors degree in Business or related field
− Experience in a software development organization with a focus on product or sales management
− Technical background, with experience in the municipal or software sector
− Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
− 2+ years of software marketing/product management experience
− Product management experience
− Strong planning, leadership, organizational and execution skills.
− Ability to influence and coordinate people and activities across multiple functional areas without formal authority.
− Strong demonstrated capabilities in communicating and interfacing between sales, marketing and engineering.
− Ability to analyze market trends, think strategically, and determine client needs
− Ability to plan and execute product vision
− Strong analytical abilities with the proven capacity to focus on details
− Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong quantitative analysis skills
