Vadim Software is recruiting for a Business Analyst (“BA”). This is an internal consultancy role that has responsibility for investigating business systems, identifying options for product improvements and bridging the needs of the client through the use of IT.
Working closely with the software design team, the BA produces requirement documentation by soliciting input from key stakeholders including: development, QA, customer support and client advisors. These requirements may be intended for improvements to existing software and/or the creation of completely new software (e.g. the next major upgrade of our iCity software to e3). Additionally, this role assists customer support analysts in triaging client support cases by documenting solutions and recommendations.
This position is based in Kelowna and reports directly to the Technical Product Manager.
− Act within the product management plans, and the development project plans and timelines, to meet the required deadlines and targets.
− Responsible for business requirements analysis and the creation of business and functional specification documents.
− Collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts (“SME”) and Implementation Specialists (“IS”) in the organization to execute the business analysis functions.
− Interact and collaborate with external/outsourced developers (based throughout various time zones).
− Carry out detailed problem definition, critical analysis and research in close collaboration with other staff members and client representatives to define enhancements and/or improvements of existing software products and/or the creation of new software products.
− Assist in business and functional testing of the resultant product changes in accordance with specifications.
− Use a variety of critical analysis, design and documentation techniques, including data and process modeling and use-case techniques.
− Participate in business modeling processes as well as plan and conduct the formal review of the requirements documents.
− Work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple projects and overlapping requests.
− Monitor the external landscape to keep abreast of pending changes that will impact the software products (e.g. changing legislative requirements, accounting framework updates, payroll tax table updates, formation of new governing bodies, etc.).
− Engage stakeholders and team members to proactively plan for emerging issues.
− May be required to act as Project Manager for small to mid-sized projects.
− Demonstrate team spirit by contributing to a positive and high performance team environment.
− Assist others and always put forth your best effort with any individual or team related project.
− Adhere to the policies and procedures as practiced by the team and company as a whole.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
− Bachelor of Commerce, or specifically, an Accounting degree or commensurate experience, education and/or certification; or
− Bachelor of Science (related to software development/computer programming) will also be considered.
− Minimum 3 years solid experience in Business or Systems Analysis.
− Knowledge of software development lifecycle and processes (can be traditional software or web-based or mobile software) and/or previous experience designing and supporting software products.
− Strong analysis skills leading to exceptional levels of productivity, and quality.
− Experience working with methodologies and requirements analysis techniques.
− Skills to facilitate business development and research efforts through effective problem diagnosis, critical analysis, problem solving, teamwork and proactive customer management
− Accurate and concise documentation skills.
− Highly motivated with strong analytical skills.
− Exceptional communication skills; able to interact with a range of co-workers and clients.
− Abilities and skills to meet stretching deadlines and targets and work on multiple projects concurrently.
− Strong team player.
ADDITIONAL STRONG ASSETS
− Please identify any public sector specific knowledge or experience that you possess.
− Also, identify any knowledge of municipal specific business practices that you hold (e.g. utility billing, property taxes, licensing/permitting, accounting and financial reporting, purchase orders, inventory, maintenance management, building permitting, human resources, etc.
− State any knowledge or experience you have related to the payroll process.
− Knowledge of software integration between complimentary products.
− Experience in project management.
