We are looking for a dynamic individual to fill the position of Mechanical engineering technician, permanent full time position (37.5 hours / week).

The person we are seeking will play an active role within the research and development team, using the Simultaneous Engineering Approach. Innovative, well organized and detail-oriented, the ideal candidate must be creative, a dynamic team worker, able to perform well with minimum supervision. The tasks of this person will be shared between the design department, the room of prototyping and the laboratory of validation. This person will report to the Mechanical Design Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Design products, systems and/or components respecting project specifications;

 Produce technical drawings;

 Fabricate prototypes, jigs and tools in regards with product development;

 Design and prepare assemblies of tests which will be used for the validations of the components and the equipment;

 Put to the test and analyze machines, accessories and material in order to determine the output, the power, the resistance to the stress and other characteristics;

 Write test reports and other technical documents;

 Participate actively, at each step of the project, in meetings of the design team.

QUALIFICATIONS

 D.C.S. (Diploma of College studies) in mechanical engineering technology our related program;

 Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position;

COMPETENCIES

 Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM);

 Capacity to manufacture parts starting from the mechanical drawings;

 Knowledge of sheet metal, plastics and electromechanical components (asset);

 Knowledge of the data-processing tools: Windows suite office, LabView (atout) et CATIA V5 (asset);

 Fluently bilingual in both French and English.
