Food for Learning is a community-driven network of partners from various sectors who work together to develop, support and strengthen high-quality student nutrition programs within Renfrew County and District schools. The goal of Food for Learning is to provide universal access to nutritious meals and snacks for children and youth so they are ready to learn and succeed at school.

The Program Coordinator facilitates implementation of the Ministry of Children and Youth Services Student Nutrition Program (SN) according to SNP Program Guidelines. In collaboration with the Food for Learning Partnership the Program Coordinator will:

  • Provide consultation regarding best practices
  • Create partnerships to support the sustainability of Student Nutrition Programs
  • Complete program data collection and evaluation
  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy
  • Maintain quality assurance through school visits
  • Develop and implement public education campaigns
  • Identify strategies for volunteer recruitment, retention, recognition
  • Support development of a strong Food for Learning partnership, including development of strategic and annual operational plans
  • Other duties as assigned or necessary

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with an ability to create community partnerships
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and with teams
  • Ability to think creatively and facilitate problem solving
  • Access to a computer and the ability to use computer technology, including email, internet, word processing (eg, Word, Excel)
  • Must have as a minimum a “G2” Ontario Driver’s License and vehicle
  • Bilingualism an asset

The successful candidate with be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Background Check as a condition of employment
