Good employment. Biggest perk of the job was the focuse on growing an employees personal skills.
Residence assistant (Former Employee), Guelph, ON – May 6, 2013
Pros: people
Cons: hours
The role of Residence Assistant was not a typical job. The work hours were very loosely defined and you are essentially on call 24/7. Despite this the job was incredibly fun and a great educational experience. It involved working with a large number of different people in a variety of intimate and casual encounters.

Master student/ Research based (Current Employee), Guelph, ON – December 20, 2012
Learned variety of computer programs for epidemiology study such as STATA, SPSS, R, SAS, etc.
Co-workers are all students and professors, very helpful and i really enjoy discussing with them.
I hear a lot about what's going on about other epidemic diseases in the office, went to conferences to learn about what people are doing in this field.
My work – more... particularly focus on scrapie, a sheep and goat disease. I study the distribution and prevalence of it in Canada. – less

Permanent night shift and contract work.
Custodian (Former Employee), Guelph, ON – September 30, 2012
Pros: good pay and benefits
Cons: horrible hours and very little job security
Although the pay was excelent the prospect of being on continual contract work while the University constantly talks of cut backs made the job very stressful. With a young family at home my time with them was so limited as to put a lot of strain on my family.

The work place is pleasant, friendly and enthusiastic.
Research Associate (Former Employee), Guelph, ON – August 14, 2012
My will start at 8.30 am and finishes at 5.00 pm. Some days the lab experiments have to be started 6.30 am and finishes late evening. Before the end of the day I will prepare a list of works ( experiments.
/ data analysis/ manuscript preparation/ literature review/ meetings/ discussion etc.) need to be completed the next day.

I have learned various – more... laboratory techniques, designing and executing lab research; problem solving; protocol preparation, ordering chemicals; manuscript preparation; presentations; and conducting literature reviews.

Management is easily accessible , and friendly. Co-workers are very friendly, helpful, cooperative and understandable.

Each experiment is challengeable and enjoyable. Trouble shooting in a experiment is the hardest part but it is a enjoyable challenge. – less

Fantastic learning experience!
Special Events Coordinator (Former Employee), Guelph, ON – July 29, 2012
I enjoyed my time at the conversation authority, however, advancement was not readily attainable due to budgetary concerns at the time. It taught me how to manage employee's, time and compartmentalize duties. It was a physically demanding position which I enjoy.

productive and fun place to work
Custodial Services (Physical Resources) (Current Employee), Guelph, ON – July 4, 2012
Pros: good pay, fun people, good experience
Cons: only weekends, hours- start at 6am
- Typical day at work involves same routines of cleaning buildings that are being used for events or for public use. Responsibilities include removing waste, sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and disinfecting washrooms.
- Management here is awsome. Really good supervisors on the weekend job. They make sure eveything gets done and everything – more... is presentable.
- Some of my co-workers are very good at this job because they do it well and are very- hard working. Others not so much.
- Hardest part of the job is getting evrything finished in a short time frame, especially when school starts and the students are back.
- Most enjoyable part of the job is in the summer when you dont have to rush to get buildings done. You can take your time so everything gets done properly. – less
