Expanding its portfolio of wholesale chemical products, in 2012 parent company Univar Inc. signed a deal with long-term partner, K2 Pure Solutions to market and distribute hydrochloric acid from K2 Pure Solution's Pittsburg, California facility.
In 2010, Univar acquired Basic Chemical Solutions, a California-based global distributor and trader of commodity chemicals. The acquisition bolstered Univar's supply chain between the company and chemical end-users and strengthen its global sourcing capabilities.
In 2007 Univar acquired leading US distributor CHEMCENTRAL, making its US business #1 in the nation ahead of Ashland and Brenntag.
