Worst,worst management,No future planning
asst software engineer (Former Employee), banglore – January 31, 2013
If you got placed in UNISYS ...better to select another option for your job. If you rely on this company it will give you a big iron hand.Same thing happened to me. I got selected and waited for joining wasting my 1 year time. Upto now i didn't got any call. They are saying me to wait for some more days. I still don't know why they took me when they – more... don't have any requirement. Plzzz don't become an worst example like me due to this company,.... – less

It was a unfriendly and stressful place to work.
Computer Operator (Former Employee), Salt Lake City, UT – January 24, 2013
Pros: the learning available, free training.
Cons: upper management.
I would come in and get turn-over from the earlier shift, have and issues or special runs discussed. I would follow the scheduled processing, check equipment, and run programs.
I learned how to run programs, stop and make corrections to the programs and restart the program, and how to make my own programs.
The upper management was very difficult to – more... work with and would blame people for something that they had no part in, the immediate management, like the supervisors, were good to work with. My co-workers, they were wonderful to work with, they were willing to help you with any problems and to learn the systems.
The hardest part of the job was when I would have to split a partition in a system for testing while it was still running, I would be afraid that if something went wrong I would be yelled at by management.
The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to stop the program, correct any problem, re-start the program and finish on schedule. – less

Its a typical call center with burocracy everywhere you look.
Fannie Mae Underwriter Support (Current Employee), Salt Lake City, UT – January 15, 2013
Pros: great co workers
Cons: benefits, call center feeling
I would assist brokers and lenders with data entry for residential, commercial and governmental loans including FHA and VA loans.

I have learned to troubleshoot underwriting problems, which will allow me to be both efficient and effective at underwriting. I have become an expert with DO/DU software and I am familiar with other underwriting software, – more... such as Encompass, POINT and DataTrac.

The hardest part would be talking to really upset customer over the phone, but the most enjoyable believe it or not would be the opportunity to talk to great customers and learn from them about underwriting and unique experiences in the industry. – less

Variety of work
Project Manager (Former Employee), Plymouth, MI – January 11, 2013
Pros: little depth of expertise, hard to take time off for vacations.
Cons: variety of work and flexible hours
Burroughs was sold off from Unisys this is the same job that I had with Burroughs

It is a good place to work for a self-starter.

They have been shifting from a manufacturer of document processing equipment to a service organization for almost the entire time I was employed there.

Having a strong background in manufacturing skilled trades as the company – more... transformed I was challenged with ample opportunity to learn something new.

As most of the manufacturing has moved off shore, the opportunities for someone with my background diminished.

I you have a strong background in service engineering for document processing equipment it would be a fine place to work.

The environment is demanding yet friendly. – less

Unisys as a whole
Help Desk Agent (Former Employee), West Valley City, UT – January 6, 2013
Pros: little micro managing, growth, challenge and clientele was choice.
Cons: benefits, hours, new stress and work with little change of pay.
I felt Unisys was a wonderful place to work there isn't much promoting but the gift of more challenge, new information and growth in my position I still had much to learn. Their was good compensation, horrible medical options but overall an enjoyable position.

Over the years there were many lay offs that resulted in a negative attitude for the majority of the employees.
Senior Program Product Manager (Current Employee), Blue Bell PA and working at home in Yardley PA – January 4, 2013
Pros: very little to talk about but working as a virtual employee has its benefits
Cons: we had a long period that no one received any salary increases.
I was lucky that i survived over the years and had the freedom to manage my products that I managed.

As long as you were on top of your responsibilities than you were able to move within the company.
