unknown intentions
none (Former Employee) –  nowhere23 December 2016
I applied for the position of shop supervisor because the job description looked like a copy of my resume. After a telephone interview which seemed promising there was no response and I remembered that I had applied to this job years ago with the same result. It seems to me that they leave the ad in permanently without the intention to hire. I guess they are just 'fishing', for what, I don't know, but if you want to apply for this job don't get your hopes up.

No respect for designers and engineers alike. High level of politics. Don't hope for advancement, loyalty is often exploited.

Great people, poor management and unhealthy environment
Design Intern (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON6 September 2013
Nice work and amazing people. Unfortunately Umbra suffers from poor management and this results in favouritism and bad communication. Poor benefits, minuscule performance increases, no cost of living adjustments. Would not recommend.
Pros
Great people, nice building, good cafeteria
Cons
Long hours, untrained managers, bad communication, little to no salary increases
