Uline is a bubble-wrap popper's dream come true. The company sells more than 25,000 packaging and shipping products (such as bubble wrap, corrugated boxes, envelopes, tape), warehouse supplies (work tables, dock equipment), janitorial products (brooms, cleansers), and retail supplies (bags, merchandise tags, pricing devices). Uline operates around ten distribution centers throughout the US (including in California, Illinois, and Texas) as well as facilities in Canada and Mexico. The firm also markets products through its website. Started in 1980 in the founder's basement, Uline is owned and operated by the Uihlein family.
The company in 2011 started construction in Hudson, Wisconsin on a 640,000-sq.-ft. building, which will replace the company's Eagan, Minnesota distribution center. The distribution will have over 80 loading docks. The first phase of the distribution center is slated to open in 2013.
While privately owned Uline doesn't report its financial results, the company rang up an estimated $1.5 billion in revenues in 2010. – less
