It is going downhill and exiting the fixed income business.

It was a day filled with reading morning start reports, printing out sheets for my supervisor, and filing stuff. Learning curve was pretty shallow and my boss was a very busy man. He tried to teach me things but I think it was a combination of him being very busy as well as my Schedule that made it difficult for me to get more out of the internship. – more... I enjoyed my time at UBS and I learned a great deal. The 24 hour nature of trading systems support can be pressure packed. But it teaches you to handle problems with alacrity and aplomb.

21 years is a long time-so in summary - I learned so much. I do not like doing reviews as they are only a partial glimpse of what I am capable of.

Everyone I worked with here was a joy and very helpful. My manager was great at his job and probably one of the best I have had. Each day he would take an hour out of the end of my shift and sit with me to go over any issues or concerns I had as well as teach me and show me new material about the financial market. UBS being the company the JA students worked for competed in a team effort against other companies to reach a superior sales goal. Through a well organized group of brain storming students we created ways to sell a product to customers is such a way that made buying the product a beneficial act for everyone.

UBS is in a significant cost cutting mindset. They have significantly reduced their workforce and are in the process of offshoring many of the operational roles. I would advise against taking an operational role with UBS for the foreseeable future.

During my time at UBS, I was able to learn new things such as opening a new/updating a account, renew loans, search client information, provide client with information regarding their account and prepare for a client visit. Everyone at UBS are very helpful and friendly, take time our of their work routine to share some knowledge of the work they do. – more... I worked as a Senior Compliance Analyst in both the Registration and Insurance Licensing Departments. My supervisors were helpful and approachable. My coworkers and I worked as a great team. I loved working there but they outsourced my job to India.

I started as receptionist, which consisted of answering phones and directing clients, and also assisting with filing documents. My co-workers were wonderful to work with and very helpful. There is opportunity to move up to a brokers assistant, broker or salesperson.

Responsible for 1400 Hewlett Packard Migration and deployment of Windows XP and Windows 7 includes receiving assets, moving equipment, staging equipment for build/image.time management. My co-workers we worked as a team. Completely the work.

A typical day i would speak to a stock broker and do all her errands such as make phone calls for her, organize her address book, read her mail, co-assist other co-workers.

Pretty standard, sometimes I feel underused and not challenging enough but it could be worse.
