Significant experience (within the last two years) in business planning and financial management with the Department of National Defence

Experience (within the last two years) with MS Office 2010 Suite including Excel and Word

Experience (within the last two years) within ADM(Mat) group

Knowledge of SharePoint as a means to collaborate with stakeholders for the development of business planning documentation, publishing documents required for meetings and sharing documents concerning business planning procedures

DUTIES OF THE RESOURCE:

- Review the ADM(Mat) business plan guidance and reporting templates for FY16 and the direction that DMMS(FM) has issued to MEPM directorates to date;
- Perform a gap analysis to identify what additional direction and effort is required by MEPM directorates;
- Develop a plan for review and approval by DMMS(FM) that will enable MEPM to finalize the L2 Business Plan submission in advance of 8 Oct 14 deadline;
- Proactively implement the approved plan by collecting electronically and in person from each MEPM directorate the data required to generate the L2 submission;
- Validate and consolidate data using the required templates; perform an analysis of the consolidated data and identify any risks or opportunities to achieve identified MEPM objectives and milestones;
- Draft the L2 Business Plan submission for review and endorsement by DMMS(FM);
- Review the Maritime Equipment Program Plan (MEPP) template within MEPM context; proactively develop a plan for review and approval by DMMS(FM) for endorsement of the MEPP for FY16-FY18 by FY16 (1 Apr 2015);
- Proactively implement the approved plan by engaging with MEPM stakeholders as required to generate each section of the MEPP; validate and consolidate subsequent remits from each MEPM directorate using the MEPP template for review/endorsement by DMMS(FM);

- Other duties as required to achieve the above:

  • schedule and facilitate program coordination meetings with MEPM stakeholders (identify agenda items, promulgate reference documents, generate minutes and maintain an action item log);
  • assist in the review and preparation of briefings, reports and presentations to senior management related to the business plan;
  • attend meetings related to business planning/monitoring as required; and
  • document current business planning practices within MEPM, capture lessons learned and make recommendations towards continuous improvement.
