eLearning Developer

As an eLearning Developer, you will develop online learning modules as determined by the Lead of the team. You will also work on various projects within the group.

The descriptions of design and maintenance herein are neither complete nor exhaustive but could include the following:

  • Translate business concepts to be delivered via the web
  • Create, implement and manage websites
  • Act as the single point of entry for writing online content and updating designated business driven initiatives
  • Create customized multimedia online learning modules that outline specific learning tasks for the organization; recognizing field and regional constraints; such as bandwidth, sound and limited network availability.
  • Cooperate with business units to provide instructional design expertise
  • Translate concepts into manuals that are accessible through the company intranet
  • Design and deliver multi-level application-related web material as per IT/business requirements understanding various education delivery methods
  • Act as team liaison in the development of education strategies as part of meeting the ongoing business requirements
  • Liaise with the various project and operational team members to ensure that needs are identified and implemented as part of the organization’s strategy, including but not limited to; all standard methodologies, needs analysis, curriculum design, education delivery and evaluation, technical issues and best practices.
  • Provide consultation, support and delivery of training and solutions to regional and field offices
  • Provide support to the team to ensure cross-functional training occurs on a continuous basis
  • Ensure documentation methods and techniques are based upon recognized, appropriate principles of adult learning
  • Deliver reports as required
  • Liaise with business and solution teams to gain an understanding of the technical issues that will impact clients with regard to web content
  • Cooperate with various groups to ensure a consistent educational message is delivered to business teams as well as IT service and solution teams
  • Design and implement measurement tools and processes to evaluate training programs for effectiveness
  • Coordinate third party web development and maintenance services as required
  • Provide subject matter expertise for software applications as required
  • Create standards and document all processes to be used as a facilitation tool for future projects and initiatives

The qualifications and experience we are seeking from an eLearning Developer include:

  • Able to create dynamic, instructionally sound courses with visually engaging modules
  • Instructional Design background is essential (solid experience with storyboarding, script and narration development cycles, etc.)
  • Programming knowledge or background would be an asset
  • Self-starter who is highly motivated, reliable and conscientious
  • Excellent communication skills in a team environment as well as with clients
  • Problem solving, analytical and organization skills required
  • Motivated to deliver a high level of customer service
  • Able to learn new software independently
