The store was a cozy little spot. The ladies and gents I worked with were friendly....at times competitive, but that made work fun. Sales was always keys and what better motivation than to win right!

Great place to work as a temporary job
SALES ASSOCIATE (Former Employee) –  Fort Lauderdale, FL2 November 2017
Loved my boss and the people I worked with. Great pay for a sales associate. Enjoyed the bonuses, and after 3 months got a 401k. Was able to talk to my boss or coworkers about scheduling as needed and everyone was very accommodating.
Pros
Great staff, flexible schedule if you were a hard worker.
Cons
Holidays were hard to work - mostly due to the rude last-minute customers, especially on Black Friday.

Associate Manager (Former Employee) –  Central Valley, NY24 October 2017
Despite Tumi setting their teams up for success (tons of great product knowledge resources), their upper management (store managers) were overworked and under supported. This would occasionally cause issues in store.

Management was extremely difficult
Consumer Affairs Representative (Former Employee) –  Vidalia, GA18 September 2017
Tumi, would be a nice place to work. However, management makes it extremely difficult. A Typical work day with Tumi is streesful, and dealing with customers is not easy especially when you follow company procedures, the customers want to escalate and its always your word against the customers. Workplace culture, is pretty much an even spread. However, the African Americans were treated unfairly i.e.. performance reviews. The hardest part of the job is being written up for things that are not in your control.
Cons
management and 10 min breaks, should be at least 15 mins

But Why?
Associate Manager (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TX7 September 2017
The work pace here is very slow until there is an issue to resolve. This is typically a repair. The parts ordering system is confusing at best and overly redundant as is the special orders process.
Pros
Interesting Clientele
Cons
Few hours

Associate Manager (Former Employee) –  Waipahu, HI10 August 2017
Good place to work. Offered decent benefits to employees. The job offered a great balance with personal time and work time as no one worked over 40 hrs per week. Tumi places a lot of focus on individual customer service and driving individual sales goals for everyone (staff and management).
Pros
Fun place to work
Cons
Because it is a luxury retailer, there are times business is almost non-existent.

Great pay....Not so great hours/schedule
manager (Former Employee) –  NJ24 July 2017
Great company, great pay, and benefits. Only thing is for a full time employee, full time hours are a minimum of 30 hours and you get closer to that number then to 40 hours. Also a lot of closing shifts. They are not distributed evenly the store manager and assistant only close once a week because that is all they are required to.
Pros
pay, benefits
Cons
hours, schedule

Tumi is the best company I have worked for. It has a culture of vision, growth and respect. The job responsibilities are delegated to allow balance between sales floor and backroom duties. I have strong support from my District Manager which allows for growth and learning.
