The Radio Outside Sales Representative is responsible for contributing effectively to the success of the Sales Division by actively seeking out new clients for radio equipment, supporting existing clients, and effectively communicating information between the radio sales and radio rentals department.


  • Promote sales to new and existing clients
  • Identify and solicit potential clients prospect for new business opportunities
  • Assess client's needs and resources and recommend the appropriate goods or services
  • Make accurate, timely cost calculations, and providing customers with quotations
  • Negotiate variations in price, delivery and specifications with managers
  • Record sales and order information using both online and manual processes
  • Negotiate terms of agreements and closing sales, prepare, and administer sales contracts
  • Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support
  • Identify and resolve product and service related problems
  • Troubleshoot technical problems related to equipment
  • Participate in sales incentive programs and monthly sales meetings
  • Monitor competition by gathering market data and customer information
  • Build and execute proactive sales plans
  • Advise customers and other staff on forthcoming product developments and special promotions
  • Continuous learning of new and upcoming products, technologies, and market trends
  • Acknowledge customers in waiting area right away
  • Answer customer phone calls in a prompt manner
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace and showroom

With support of the Sales Manager:

  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy that ensures attainment of company goals for sales and profitability
  • Prepare action plans to facilitate the effective search of sales leads and prospects
  • Develop and implement advertising and marketing plans
  • Represent the product and company to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, Trade Shows etc.
  • Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin
  • Maintain accurate records of all pricing and sales reports submitted
  • Create and conduct proposals and presentations
  • Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
  • Constructively handle customer complaints related to sales activities
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines
  • Delegate authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up to ensure that all sales staff meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes
  • Seek out opportunities for continued professional growth; improving sales skills, managerial skills, business skills and product knowledge



High School Diploma

Experience and Training

1 – 3 years of inside and outside telecommunications sales experience

Knowledge of products and services offered by Tridon Communications

Solid and proven reputation for achieving and exceeding sales targets

Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License or equivalent

Recent Driver’s Abstract will be required upon condition of employment


Proficient in computer application programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Ormandy

Excellent verbal and written communication

Strong organizational and time management skills

Strong prospecting and negotiating ability

Ability to be aggressive but yet professional in dealing with customers

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
