The hardest part of the job was working with marketing, as we received little support and there was not a great deal of flexibility. The systems we used were limiting and often had problems which was difficult to resolve through the support channel.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with really good people, who were helpful, positive and inspiring. My managers were also the best I have had the privilege to work for, really good managers, and so helpful! Nice to learn new stuffs for an intern student. Keeps my blood pumping for daily tasks such as researching, planning and designing that must qualify on the expectations of the supervisors. Resources for work are very much available.

As an IT intern for Trend Micro, job responsibilities weren't really difficult. A typical day involves monitoring of build servers and doing an inventory on all the assets inside the server room.

Comfortable environment very friendly, room to grow and many things to learn. Great place to build skills and expand knowledge. Hardest part would be learning the products and what the differences are with each. Most enjoyable part it's bring able to learn multiple functions, constant change and challenges. Everything can depend on your group/manager, but there is a lot of support for getting out of the cubicle and supporting communities worldwide. Reasonable chance to visit other Trend Micro locations (especially Taiwan). They we you to show the colors and encourage your actions in the pursuit of this objective.

Trend Micro was third in the security space which means it had to work hard to maintain its position in this competitive environment. They were a global company who was exploring ways to enhance customer relationships and support.

I learned how to work with different key stakeholders and to deliver user experience research accordingly along with project milestones. Evaluative UX techniques have been explored, which included end-to-end testing, usability testing, expert review, and product review. However, I had also learned how to implement generative techniques for pre-launch – more... and pre-design of software products. These include investigating different mobile competitors and by generating expert reviews and comparative analysis for cloud-sync platforms. I will also be looking at new user experience techniques and topics that the company is interested in. These include researching topics on experience sampling, usability testing on children and card-sorting methods. Through these exercises, I have learned how to work with dynamic group of people with different strengths and skill sets.
