Trend Micro is a good company
Systems Engineer (Former Employee), Philippines – March 14, 2013
Pros: trainings, certifications, activities
Cons: mis manage of the micro team
Trend Micro is the best place to start an IT career because they have provided trainings which will be able to help land another IT career in another company.

They have the best activities plotted for the engineers which everyone enjoys and look forward to.

Coworkers are motivated for the trainings and certifications

The hardest is the malware outbreaks.

Stimulating visionary and positive environment
Channel Partner Manager (Former Employee), Auckland – February 14, 2013
Pros: really good expense process, never a problem, they always paid and were very good in this area.
Cons: ended up having to do a lot ourselves, a satellite office, limited travel budget for national travel
My day has to start with bounce, an expectation that this day has opportunity to learn, grow and achieve goals.

I enjoy working in a mature team environment where strengths are harnessed and weaknesses and complimented by others strengths.

I enjoy a management team that is focused on the value of people, see them as the true IP of the business, and – more... invest in the growth and leadership of the individual and conscientious of their career objectives and how to best tap into their drive.

Coworkers are extremely important, and a good team is so important, we are not an island, we need to value synergy where the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.

The hardest part of the job was working with marketing, as we received little support and there was not a great deal of flexibility. The systems we used were limiting and often had problems which was difficult to resolve through the support channel.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with really good people, who were helpful, positive and inspiring. My managers were also the best I have had the privilege to work for, really good managers, and so helpful! And lest I forget, opening the commission valve accelerators when my targets were achieved, that was really good, the monetary rewards fantastic! – less

As an IT intern for Trend Micro, job responsibilities weren't really difficult. A typical day involves monitoring of build servers and doing an inventory on all the assets inside the server room.

Technical team analyst (Current Employee), Arlington, TX – July 3, 2012
Pros: company activities, the environment, benefits, too many to name
Cons: working late nights on quarter ends.
Comfortable environment very friendly, room to grow and many things to learn. Great place to build skills and expand knowledge. Hardest part would be learning the products and what the differences are with each. Most enjoyable part it's bring able to learn multiple functions, constant change and challenges. I've learned so much I don't know where to – more... begin. – less

stable employer investing in employees
Senior Staff Software Engineer (Former Employee), Cupertino, CA – June 30, 2012
Pros: stable
Cons: command of chinese language critical to highest level positions
Everything can depend on your group/manager, but there is a lot of support for getting out of the cubicle and supporting communities worldwide. Reasonable chance to visit other Trend Micro locations (especially Taiwan). They we you to show the colors and encourage your actions in the pursuit of this objective.

User Experience Researcher Internship
User Experience Researcher Intern (Former Employee), Taipei, Taiwan – January 25, 2012
Pros: great work culture, great people and mentorship
Cons: project-based deadlines
I learned how to work with different key stakeholders and to deliver user experience research accordingly along with project milestones. Evaluative UX techniques have been explored, which included end-to-end testing, usability testing, expert review, and product review. However, I had also learned how to implement generative techniques for pre-launch – more... and pre-design of software products. These include investigating different mobile competitors and by generating expert reviews and comparative analysis for cloud-sync platforms. I will also be looking at new user experience techniques and topics that the company is interested in. These include researching topics on experience sampling, usability testing on children and card-sorting methods. Through these exercises, I have learned how to work with dynamic group of people with different strengths and skill sets. Moreover, I have gained insight to software design and its distinct work culture. – less
