Duration: 12-14 weeks (contingent upon funding level)
Wage: $11.00 / hour
No.Positions: One (1) Special Events Coordinator & One (1) Seniors Festival & Events Coordinator
Department: These positions are a collaborative between Trenton Parks & Recreation and the Friends of Trenton Park Society and the Pictou County Seniors Festival. Both positions will be based out of the Trenton Park office.
Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Coordinator and the Recreation Programmer Communications Officer the Special Events Coordinator shall be responsible for:
- Assisting with the planning and implementation of various aspects of special event programs as assigned including:
o cost estimates
o schedule of activities
o recruiting required volunteers and personnel
o arranging program supplies and equipment
o submitting advertising and promotional plans
o event set up and participation (evening and weekend work required)
- Special Events Coordinator will be responsible for:
o Summer’s Here Celebration (June 21)
o Trenton FunFest (July 12-15)
o Cinema Under the Stars at Trenton Park (evenings schedule to be determined)
o Planning new events/activities designed for children, youth, adults, families’.
o Helping the Seniors Festival Coordinator with seniors events (when applicable)
o Farmers Market (evening to be determined)
- Seniors Festival Coordinator will be responsible for:
o Pictou County Seniors Festival (August 7-9th)
o Planning new events/activities specific to senior citizens
o Assisting the Special Events Coordinator with Park events (when assigned)
