Fire protection technician (Former Employee) – Ottawa, ON – 7 January 2013
I would arrive at 6:45am, grab my work orders for the day and plan out in which order to go to each location, take the company car or cargo van and go gas up then head to my first location. I inspected fire extinguishers, fire hoses, smoke detectors, emergency exit lights, water sprinklers as well as the fire alarm panels. I also repaired all of the above. I would chat with clients as well to let them know what I was doing and explaining what I would do as we would walk through, buildings, or schools or big garages. I would drive back to the shop at the end of the day and unload the vehicle if I had any extinguishers to unload for repair that day. Then I would fill out my work reports in detail about the work and hours that were done at each location and discuss it with my manager.
